Check. The side shot isn't too bad, though, and because the playing area is so small, DI is hardly restricted by range. Since that little gun can be HIP *anywhere*, it provides a real nailbiting factor for the Russians. > It's been a while since I've looked a this one...the Germans get a DC, HMG, > and 9-2 don't they? It's an MMG, not an HMG. They have quite a lot of FP if they can keep the SW/Guns functioning. Bruce wrote: > >Yeah, it's dicey; it's tiny. I guess my point is not that it's dicey, it the kind of DRs/drs that can make or break the scenario. I don't have much problem with scenarios that are dicey as far as fire attacks, MCs, CC, etc. are concerned. This scenario, however, seems to hinge to a great extent on what I would call *fate* DRs. It's extreme winter, so the German can be done in by malfs (1/6 chance every time they fire). There's also a small chance of losing a unit on a DR 11 Rally attempt. The Russian has to cope with Mech. unreliability (assuming they stop and try to shoot), Non-Platoon movement TCs if they choose to do so, and the evil Deep Snow Bog. Potentially, the German could have a solid set-up, or the Russian could have a very good plan, and either one could just get hosed by fate. Sure, you can also get hosed in any scenario if you can't roll less than 9 on a fire attack, or if you can't pass a MC. Somehow, that seems more legitimate, to me, than having the game decided on weapon malfs or Bog DRs. Maybe I have control issues. :-) I will say, however, that I think this scenario was more fun in the original SL version before some of these things were introduced into the Game.
